About The Farm
Hello local produce lovers! The Farm is running smooth and ready to bring fresh naturally grown pesticide free produce to you. We are continuing are positive changes in the 2024 growing year by moving the farm toward permaculture to create sustainable land use and promote the natural relationships of the ecosystem. The farm is utilizing a no till farming method consisting of applying mulch between rows, a fresh compost layer on each row, and straw around plants to hold in moisture and fend off weeds. The Farm is working to develop a biodiversity plan to increase soil nutrients and increase beneficial insects to the ecosystem. We are continuing are efforts starting last year to include bees on our property for pollination and a small amount of honey harvest.
The Farm is not USDA licensed organic but follows the standards set by Pennsylvania Certified Organics and uses only products certified by the Organic Materials Review Institute. The Farm is currently growing on about a half acre of land, in an 80 ft hoop house, and a small greenhouse.
